The Big Band Theory
The biggest multilingual Rock Band competition in Mumbai. Period.
Last year The Big Band Theory was also an audition for the CHANNEL [V] LAUNCHPAD.
This year, the winner gets to open for Kailash Kher’s Kailasa.
RULES:
1. Songs of all languages are allowed.
2. 7 minutes of playing time will be given to each band during eliminations (including setup/soundcheck time).
3. 5 best bands will be chosen for the finals of which there will be one winner and one runners up prize
4. 2 minutes of setup/soundcheck time and 10 minutes (total 12 minutes) of playing time will be given to the bands in the finals.
5. Swearing and abusing are strictly not allowed
6. Distortion is allowed
7. 3-8 members allowed in each band.

Guitar Wars

Then show us your skills as you are pitched against the best in the business from across the country. Ready for WAR?!…..slay your opponents with the guitar of your choice….you were born to do this….the last man standing shall have the spoils…
RULES
1. Guitars allowed : Electric and Acoustic
2. Solo event
3. Bass guitar not allowed
4. 3 minutes playing time will be given for the elimination round. 4 best guitarists will proceed to the semis. No accompaniments allowed for the eliminations
5. 5 minutes of playing time will be given in the semi finals. Who goes against who will be decided by the judges. Two out of the four will proceed to the finals. Accompanying drums for semis are optional.
6. Finals will be divided into two rounds
1. 5 minutes will be given to each guitarist to show his talent. One drummer (COMPULSORY) and one bass player (OPTIONAL) will be allowed as accompaniments. If the guitarist cannot arrange for one, a drummer will be provided.
2. 10 minutes of battle between the two finalists where they go head to head against each other on stage. Drums accompaniment is a must. Bass as accompaniment is NOT allowed for this round.
7. College ID card of the current academic session is mandatory.

Hindi Vocals
RULES:
Eliminations:
1. The Participant has to sing a song of his/her choice. Time limit for eliminations: 3 mins
2. Getting an accompanist for the eliminations is optional
Finals:
1. Participants’s choice round-Time limit: 4mins
2. Judges choice round: Rules and regulations will be decided by the judges and disclosed on the spot
3. The number of rounds in finals are subject to change
4. Orchestra will be provided for Finals

English Vocals

Eliminations:
1. The Participant has to sing a song of his/her choice. Time limit for eliminations: 3 mins
2. Getting an accompanist or a karaoke track for the eliminations is optional
Finals:
1. The Participant has to sing a song of his/her choice. Time limit: 8 mins

Theme Music Mania

So step up and show us your creativity and originality and compose your very own masterpiece…
RULES:
1. A 3 min video clip without audio will be uploaded 48hours before the competition on Manzar official site. Teams have to compose a theme music based on this video.
2. Participants will have to compose the theme music using their own instruments. The final performance will be playing the music live alongside the video clip
3. Any instrument can be used for composing the music
4. Keyboard, drums and guitars will be provided for the final performance (if a team is using any other instrument , they are requested to carry these instruments)
5. Team size: Maximum 3 members
6. On the spot entries and pre-registered teams will be allowed.

Instrumental jugalbandi 
A Jugalbandi expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.  
RULES:
1. Team Size : 2
2. Time limit: 4-6 mins.
3. A beat of the synthesizer cannot be used
4. Basic Instruments will be provided by us: Tabla, Drums, Keyboard, and Guitar (does not include bass guitar). Participant wishing to use any other instrument should carry his own instrument.
